Getting started
Connecting your agent through the MCP
Connect the AI app you already use, then ask it to design in Vizu.
On this pageBefore you connectJump
Start in Vizu
Open the Vizu desktop app and sign in. Keep it open while you design so your agent can see its work.
You’ll connect your AI app once. After that, just describe what you want to make.
Set up GitHub Copilot app / CLIClient setup
Choose GitHub Copilot app / CLI in Vizu
On Home in the desktop app, select Connect agent to MCP in the “Your agent in Vizu” card, then choose GitHub Copilot app / CLI.
Select Add
Vizu saves the setup for you. There’s no file to find or command to edit.
Reopen GitHub Copilot app / CLI
Start a new chat. If your app asks to enable or trust Vizu, accept to connect it.
If Add doesn’t work
In Vizu’s setup window, select Copy command. Open Terminal on macOS or Linux, or PowerShell on Windows, paste the command and run it. Then reopen GitHub Copilot app / CLI.
The copied command is ready for your computer. You don’t need to find the Vizu app or change a path.
Ask for your first design
In your AI app, try:
Can you help design my landing page in Vizu?Tell it what you’re building and who it’s for. If you already have a Vizu workspace, mention its name. Your agent handles the design tools for you.
Continue in the same chat to ask for changes: “Make the heading bigger” or “Try a darker background.”
Troubleshooting
- The tools do not appear
- Reopen your AI app and start a new chat. Check its MCP settings and enable Vizu if it is switched off. If setup failed, use the copied command from Vizu’s setup window.
- You’re asked to sign in
- Sign in again in Vizu. Keep Vizu signed in while you design.
- Screenshots are unavailable
- Open Vizu and keep it running. Your agent needs the desktop app to preview its designs.
- A request is waiting for an agent
- In your AI chat, ask: “Can you work on my feedback in Vizu?” Connecting your app does not start a conversation automatically.
